wuhu!!!
okay. first review. [yehey!]
the [fhm] calendar tells me we only have a few days [week[s]] left to do our design plate, and to help set my brain gears to work again, i borrowed this much recommended [anime] movie from baboysai [who, by the way, already did a fantastic review of the movie on her site. just go there... if you know her url. hehe].
i wouldn't have bothered watching it, but then it was directed by hayao miyazaki; same person who directed "spirited away" "howl's moving castle" and many more. and yeah, maybe i thought "whisper of the heart" will give my brain that much needed creativity boost.
see, i expected a lot of... err... fantasy "elements" from this movie [i thought hayao movies are suppose to be like that: walking castles, witches, masked-spirits; twisted imaginative stuff [thought i could get inspiration from...]; but then again, i forgot he also directed "grave of the fireflies" [which.... i haven't finished yet. because it's soooo freakin' saaaad!!!] which is about two siblings during the world war]. okaaay... so i put the disc on, watched it for around 20mins [i fell asleep the first time i watched it. hehe] and like baboysai, i also waited for that portal-to-the-other-dimension to open. but "alas", it didn't.
however, i wasn't disappointed at all. when the movie finished, my brain muttered something like "tsk tsk... these kids... :) [but they're so young!]" [yes, complete with a smiley]. it's type was far from the hayao movies i know [not that i know many. hehe]. and you can just insert baboysai's review of the movie here because i think i feel the same way as her. haha.
[why am i doing this again?...] right. "country road" got my [cat] hair standing up. sa filipino, kinilabutan ako. haha. why of all songs, it has to be that one? it was weird hearing it when the movie started playing [because i didn't expect the movie to use an english song]. but i have to admit that the scene where they sang and played it really felt warm and [sincere]. :3 maybe because i want to play and sing music that way: spontaneous [i remember having this weird dream / fantasy of playing with those street jammers / beggars / visually impaired.]
ooookay. right. the movie's attention to the details were really superb. it's almost like watching real live acting except that it isn't [huh? #-o]. it didn't leave out those minute movements / actions a person does in a normal life. like... say... fumbling for the light switch... or giving way to a person going down the stairs... things that they could have edited out anyway... but they didn't. but that's a good thing because those little things made the movie so... for lack of a better word, realistic.
i want to have a cat like moon. because he's so fat. and round. not like our graying old cat which was white and orange back when he was still young but you can't really tell what color he once was right now because he is just so dirty but then he's old so maybe we thought he's too old to clean himself. tama.
i didn't get any creativity boost. but that's okay. i feel good after watching the movie. better get some sleep. <-O i give the movie a rating of 10 [yehey!]
[who reads these things anyway?]
